Yahaya Bello is a Nigerian politician, businessman and the current Governor of Kogi State. He was constitutionally declared winner of the 2015 Kogi State gubernatorial election after he was chosen on the platform of the All Progressives Congress as the replacement for the late Abubakar Audu who originally won the election but died before the result was declared.
Yahaya Bello was born into a family of 6 children begotten by Alhaji Bello and Hajia Bello Hawa. Yahaya Bello is happily married with children to Amina Oziya Bello.

Yahaya ventured into politics before the 2015 election as a member of the APC. He ran for the primary elections as the APC flag bearer for the governorship election, unfortunately he lost to Abubarkar Audu who later died of an heart attack after he was declared winner of the governorship election.
Yahaya was nominated by the APC to take Abubarkar’s votes and become the governor in place of late Abubarka Audu.

Yahaya Bello was widely criticised after he built a multi-million naira mansion in his Okene hometown despite owing state workers salary.
